Oka-no Umeya 岡の梅家

Oka-no Umeya is a family-owned Japanese-style confectionery store (和菓子屋 Wagashiya) with a long history spanning three generations. Located in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture, we have been very popular to locals as well as tourists, offering all-handmade Japanese sweets, some of which are available only at our store.

Wagashi (和菓子)

Wagashi are traditional Japanese confections.
The typical ingredients of a Wagashi are red beans, sugar, flour, agar, eggs and glutinous rice.

Nerikiri (練り切り)

Nerikiri is soft and sweet dough made from sweet white bean pates and soft rice cake (Gyuhi) made of glutinous rice. It is presented in various shapes and colors such as flowers, leaves and birds which represent nature in Japan. Having nerikiri, you can enjoy and appreciate the Japanese four seasons.

Kuri Dorayaki(栗どら焼)

Kuri Dorayaki is а Japanese-style pancake with a filling made of sweet red bean paste and chestnut. It consists of two small castella buns sandwiched together with sweet red bean paste and a sweetened whole chestnut in the middle.
